Licensed Practitioners

Due to an increasing demand for this service,
we are looking to train and commission a ‘dynamic and joyful’ team of 'Licensed Practitioners' to share the magic of “Thera-Build® with LEGO®” with young people across the UK and beyond!

This programme, leading to Thera-Build® Licensed Practitioner Status, is ideal for anyone working closely with children and young people in a teaching, pastoral, social care or health care role.

The bespoke ‘mentoring-style’ induction, additional theory component and work-based practice involved in this training, is designed to consolidate and deepen delegates’ knowledge of the Thera-Build® Approach.  Support and supervision will be provided directly by Alyson Thomsen, who created and developed “Thera-Build® with LEGO®,” so you can be assured of a premium 1:1 experience.

Candidates will need to be working directly with children on a regular basis in order to carry out the required assessments, that will include implementing and evaluating ideas, writing case studies, producing project examples, reviewing session reports and opportunities to develop their skills and confidence as they further internalise the process.

The course will allow practitioners to work at their own pace; but a typical time scale is 4-9 months, to allow sufficient time for reflection and application, to share best practice and identify areas for future development.

All applicants must enjoy the medium of LEGO®, bricks, be well-organised, self-motivated, confident, adaptable, playful, resourceful and be able to manage their time efficiently.

For reasons of quality assurance, applications will only be considered from people that have:

·   A professional qualification in a related field e.g., BEd, PGCE, CACHE Level 3 Diploma

·   Completed the Thera-Build® With LEGO® 2-Day Practitioner Training

·   Completed the Thera-Build® 1-Day Activity Training

·   A minimum of 6 months’ experience using Thera-Build® in one or more settings

·   2 references in support of their application

·   Proof of the Right to Work in the UK

·   An Enhanced DBS Certificate with barred list information

Training costs £695, including a 1-year licence once accredited.

An annual License fee of £75 thereafter is required to maintain the Thera-Build® accreditation and to remain on the Bricks2Learn register, in accordance with the Commission Agreement.
